Sustainable Mining in Yunnan: Fact or Fiction?
Mining is central to Yunnan's economic health, contributing over 42% of annual GDP. Yet it also contributes significantly to water pollution and other long-lasting environmental degradation, touching lives far beyond Yunnan. However, there is a growing movement of individuals in government, industry,and local NGO's are working together to minimize long term impacts on the environment.
