Have you ever wondered why there is so much violence in Kundu?
China also has had a 2nd wife culture for millennia. It is a status symbol here, for the man. Also, there are a lot of girls, not all of them nice, who have figured that they can earn more in a night than they can in a month at a regular job. And often they don't need to do more than flirt and have men buy them drinks and maybe give a cash tip for being nice. Or sometimes more, but not always.
There is also the phenomena of girls paying their way through college by having a sugar daddy. None of this is new.

发布者Yep, their agenda seems to be censorship, in order to force thier own set of values (PC) on others. I think I heard this refered to as being a 'rigid liberal'. PC has become the new puritanism, and goes against the spirit of liberalism that gave birth to it. One of the great freedoms of living in China is freedom from PC. Long may it continue.

发布者Glad to see some people are trying to claim some moral high ground. The funny thing about morality judgements are that are subjective and shift with time, as such should be avoided. But then this is open forum and anything goes.

发布者The gubmint will want to consider economic development. They need to remember that Anning is part of Kunming, and any further pollution issues (they already have Dianchi mess) will hurt Kunming's tourism.
Tourism needs to be planned for, and tourism is one of the few industries where the money comes in at the bottom level and filters up.
