Forums > Living in Kunming > Kunming Airport- another satisfied customer!

Actually, it was already in the UK media yesterday (Feb 26).

There is a real problem here.
The Chinese view the reports and think, 'Government...privelage...etc.'
The rest of the world view the report and think, 'China... adjective... adjective'

I can see ecological reasons why patterns of disease may be different in Australia to those of the USA.
I don't know the answers, but here are areas of potential difference that should be considered.

Population density of potential hosts and the ranges of genetics in human populations of each continent. Ranges of climate.

Australia is a more discreet continent with its own indigenous species, this isolation may also affect evolution/mutation of viruses and other pathogens. Also, if we look at the affects of introduced species, these were more marked in Australia. Perhaps the affects of being a large island also influence genetic mutation of viruses.

The public school will have the connections to get the paperwork that you will need to APPLY for a visa.

BUT

...you will not be able to get the visa issued in Mainland China.

KunHua (local name) hospital. I think is the Yunnan Peoples No1 Hospital was originally set up as a womens hospital. It is one of the biggest hospitals in Kunming.

I spent some time as an inpatient in the new wing. Very modern and doctors OK.

I assume that you are aware that some womens hospitals specialize in OBGYN but not especially child birth.

Off topic, but related to theme songs. When we watched terrestrial TV we listened to the whole theme, even if only in the background while we quickly made a cup of tea or finished off some other chore. With streaming, or watching box sets, we quickly FF over the theme song and titles. We are missing a lot of great music.
Everything else said by the last two posters can be captured within the idea that we no longer live in a society, we live in a market.

This has moved.
The cut flowers are about 700m east on Duonan Jie. The plants and trees are about 700 m west and follow Duocai Section.

A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.

Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.

In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
