It makes sense for the management to re-cycle and lightly treat the waste water. Otherwise they would have to buy water from the water company for watering plants. I assume this would be more expensive. A little poop will be an organic fertilizer.

Ref showering.
This could also be your shampoo or shower gel. The most common cause of skin reactions.

Even if it says P&G on the bottle, if you bought it from a small shop it probably isn't P&G. If it is local branded cheap stuff, well.... say no more.

But it could be too much chlorine or other chemical in the water. You can usually smell these.

There is the American International Highschool GED/ACT programme at Dianchi that does the full GED curriculum. The medium of teaching is English, but outside the classroom all the kids speak Chinese. The can also offer UXCEL credits.
I think the students take GED tests in some subjects at the end of year one, and so even if your children only attend one year, they could take some form of internationally recognised certification (accepted by universities) with them.
They usually take kids from age 16, but they might make an exception.

I also know the Canadian prog which is the British Columbia curriculum.

I know little of KIA, other than that is seems to have a good reputation.

There is also Kunming #1 school GCSE A'Level programme. This is the British senior highschool programme. This is a 2 year programme.Students in the UK would usually start this at 16 years old, but there are exceptions to this.
The results of these exams are used for university entrance.

A lot will also depend on where you live. #10 is in the far north of the city. KIA and the American Int HS are off DianChi Lu, to the South, and AmIntHS is about 4-5km further south than KIA.
Rents in DianChi may be higher, but the air is cleaner and it is closer to the lake, with less traffic.
North Kunming will be better if you want more of a western lifestyle with Cafes and a Metro store. Beijing Lu is also on the Metro line (when it opens). But traffic along BJ Lu is heavy.

I have PMd you.

Plants are often watered with water of lower quality. On this the locals are sensible.
There are only a few cities in China where the tap water is said to be pottable (fit for drinking).

We pay our bill via our management office, but the bill comes from a water company. The way the utilities work in China can be a bit convoluted. It makes sense though, it saves me a journey and saves the water company from having to open offices all over the city.

In one city we paid the gas bill via the management. But gas was rationed, if we went over our quota, we had to go to the gas company (in some god forsaken quater of the city) to buy an extra ration, which was limited.

I think the airport mentioned here will be for heliport and small private planes of the corporate variety.
This may be linked up to the plans for the area east of Dianchi Lu and north of Guangfu Lu that was previously earmarked for new financial district.

BUT at least Shanghai Tongji know what they are doing. It just depends on whether the local gumint will listen to their advice.

The non protected thing was the issue with HuaXia Bank scandal. It was likened to a Ponzi. People lost huge amounts and it killed the market.
CMB is big enough to have the assets to cover any potential losses, and has decided that the only way to have a wealth management product that sells is to guarantee the principle. To not honor the promise would be damaging to the CMB brand and would cost them more money than swallowing the loss.
IMHO. Because of the nature of CMB's core business, and their place in the market, they can be trusted. Unlike smaller banks like HuaXia.

This has moved.
The cut flowers are about 700m east on Duonan Jie. The plants and trees are about 700 m west and follow Duocai Section.

A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.

Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.

In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
