Actually, mapo doufu is not something I have tried to make. I am not a fan of huajiao spice. However, I am sure others on Gokunming have.

I am pretty sure that you can buy mapo doufu ready meal seasoning in a packet (just add tofu, meat, and water) at the supermarket. If you can buy this, then one solution would be to use less seasoning than recommended on the packet.

Forums > Living in Kunming > hobby electronics components store?

I looked, even in Shanghai there are now such shops aimed at retail hobbyists, there are electronics markets, but you need to buy things in bulk. I wanted to buy LEDs and resistors. They would laugh at me and sell me single LEDs but resistors I had to buy by the 100.

If it is a one off taobao purchase, ask someone else who has an account to buy for you. You could contact Taiji Julia www.gokunming.com/en/users/profile/34495/taijijulia who has offered to do this for people in the past.

You may still need to buy in bulk, but using taoboa will save you lots of money on shoe leather, bus fares, and wasted time. Note, small items on taobao, e.g. cost 1rmb will have 10rmb postage, but if you buy 10, postage will be free.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Renew of a visa

No idea, my wife's temporary ID is valid 12 months. Personally, I would ask the staff at PSB Tuodong Lu. They are very helpful. If you need to return to Dali, they will tell you.

I had a similar thing a few years ago, my wife had forgotten to renew her temp ID and so I was unable to process my visa in Kunming. We then went to the city where my wife has a hukou. But you need to be able to register a residential address with the local police in that city.

There are many MLM companies operating in around the world. Amway, Avon, Mary K, and many others operate in China. but many are not a scam. Many of them are selling products that people consume. From the article the government is clamping down on the scams that focus on growing the network only, for a promise of unachievable incomes.

Interesting, but I have to wonder what the effects to the soil will be if/when peppers fall from the plant and rot into it. There are a lot of small organisms and animals that provide vital functions to soils health. It might be organic, but it is still potentially toxic.

This has moved.
The cut flowers are about 700m east on Duonan Jie. The plants and trees are about 700 m west and follow Duocai Section.

A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.

Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.

In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
