Lead affects many organs and the nervous system. The later is why lead poisoning is a problem especially for children and can potentially lead to learning disorders.
Adults are just loopy anyway.

I was staying in a guest house in Dali, just outside the wall, in July. 50/night.
My usual place which is much nicer was 60/n. This has double room, table, en-suite, and outside the room is a balcony/walkway with views of the lake.

Long term rent could be negotiated down.

Rent a few KM outside the city is much cheaper, but places harder to find. There is a lot of empty prop around Dali.

There is more than 2g in my cup of joe. We are not talking instant coffee.

The staff are paid for more than the time at the point of delivery. That all gets wrapped up in overheads. Staff are paid if they are busy or not busy. They also clean, take deliveries, and yes, they have slack time. and the boss still pays them.
There is rent, fuel and light, and many other outgoings. Some of these are fixed costs (have to pay even if you have no customers) some are not.
Unless these costs are recovered, from sales revenue, places go under. And this does happen, even in Kunming.

All systems have their faults. The danger occurs when too much power is ceded to one individual or small group/faction. Or if it rests with one individual or faction for too long. Especially where there is a lack of accountability., or a refusal to be called to account.

The Alipay strategy is very clever. Free bike for a month gets people used to using your service and are more likely to stay with you. It also gets around the problem of people's resistance to downloading another APP offering the same service as one you already have. It also attracts new users who may not have bothered with public hire bikes before.

This has moved.
The cut flowers are about 700m east on Duonan Jie. The plants and trees are about 700 m west and follow Duocai Section.



A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.



Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.



In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
