Forums > Food & Drink > suggestion on redwine tigertiger, don't bother answering. mmkunmingteacher's rose colored glasses are so ingrained, that he thinks he is eating lamb when he gets Kunming street meat. Even if he bothered to try a small shop wine and finds out it tastes like fortified grape juice, he'll probably go "awesome, China has great cheap red wine." Seriously, anyone who though Kunming street meat is lamb or a red wine from a small dumpy grocery shop in China is not going to be fortified grape juice probably has no tastebuds or taste.
Forums > Study > Yunnan DaXue knifing? Sadly thanks to all the knifing attacks that makes the headlines now, we get copy cats. Couple of years ago, it was rampages during school pickup times. Now we have traffic jams and cops at every school during pickups.
Forums > Food & Drink > Ducks appearing around town. Tried the 1st location mmkunmingteacher mentioned a while back. Overated. Just oily pressure fried duck. But the hype is there; long ass line and sells out by 5pm. No sauce or rice wraps came with it either, not that it would of made it taste better. But the smell is very good.
Forums > Food & Drink > Import foods expanded in C4 Nan Ya @Peter99
Yeah I agree, Western food availability is quite good given Kunming is a tier 2 city. It honestly adds to the livability of this city. Like most of the expats, I probably eat it only a couple of times a month, but knowing the options are there is nice. As they say, variety is the spice of life.

You forgot about your prized Kunming lamb skewers.
Doors to international trade swing wide for Laos
发布者50 years isn't excessive given the amount of infrastructure to be built along with the rail. Also, factor in the low population density of Laos, hilly terrain, and most of the equipment will have to be imported, 50 years is about right. Even the USA has handed out some 50 and even 75 year BOT contracts.

Recipe: Yunnan-style pork and egg custard
发布者Chinese would call this "steamed egg" 蒸鸡蛋 Zhēng jīdàn. The version with minced meat is called 肉末蒸蛋 Ròu mò zhēng dàn.
