Forums > Travel Yunnan > New Airport Hotels There are no hotels in the airport or anywhere near it. The building that's being built nearby that looks like a hotel is months away from completion.
The best option for a morning flight is to stay at a hotel near one of the shuttle bus departure points. I didn't confirm, but this article states a 5:00am first departure. I would really confirm this before hand.

Another option is to stay in a hotel you are familiar with and hire one of the car services that advertises on GoKunming.
Forums > Travel Yunnan > beihai or sanya? I would take Sanya over Beihai for beaches. But relaxing it may not be.
I would spend a little more and fly to Thailand, Cambodia, or Vietnam. China beach tourism is still not up to par.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Tonight's Kundu Fight Damn, I thought the title was Tonight's "Kungfu" fight. Way to disappoint crazy.laowai.
Oh yeah, what did your western or traditional girl think of the fight?
Forums > Food & Drink > where to buy good red wine The Walmart on the SW corner of Remin and Huancheng, just remodeled their wine display, and has a decent selection of foreign wines for any Walmart I have ever been too. There was a 298rmb bottle of Chilean Pinot Noir that looked very good. They also had an 18rmb bottle of Spanish red from La Mancha. Didn't buy either, so let me know if you try them.
There are two Walmarts on that intersection, so make sure you hit the SW corner one. Not recommending this over Metro, but maybe closer for some people.
Forums > Food & Drink > Non Asian Barbeque I know of Sandra's, a Brazilian barbeque place, and Phil's homemade sausages.
Anything else in Kunming that qualifies or tastes similar to western barbeque?
*Not looking for Chinese shao kao, the Muslim goat sticks, Korean barbeque, or Japanese teppanyaki*

Yunnan Baiyao sued over toxic ingredients
发布者eblair obviously is a blind zealot regarding chinese traditional medicine. He or she has come to the enraged defense of aconite having totally ignored the that:
1) The lawsuit in the article has yet to be determined in favor or against the Yunnan Baiyao
2) eblair obviously didn't bother to click on the links in the article to discover that Yunnan Baiyao's mainly under attack for faulty seals in Sichuan and not listing aconite as an ingredient in HK. I don't think anyone can argue that faulty seals and mislabeling are not egregious.
Scally presented an informative article. I agree eblair is just pissed off.
