As to visa runs. Lots of old threads on GoK with info about them. Vietnam is closer but requires the expensive 380rmb visa. Laos is a longer bus ride and the border closes to foreigners by 5pm. A third option is crossing the land border in Shenzhen or just fly to HKG or BKK. Obviously, flying will cost more.

It's a small local temple with a superb view of the lake right outside it. No tourists ever make it there. It was very antiquated when I first found it, but has been remodeled since. I like these small out of the way temples with no active monks or even caretakers sometimes. Just a donation box for the candles and incense they leave out. Usually, the ones by water like this have a sea theme, but this one didn't much.
Exceedingly difficult to find or inaccessible or Google just has it plain wrong. I spent 30 minutes on a bike looking for trails to this temple. I asked the locals around the area for directions. Many had not heard of this temple, and one old woman pointed, but I was unable to find a route. There are no signs of any kind pointing to the temple, and it's not visible from any direction, even though I kept checking the gps and where it was on Gmaps. Gave up and finished my ride.

It's now 5 working days for regular processing. So I submitted my application a bit before 5pm on a Friday and was told to pick it up next week Friday after 5pm.
Cost is now 400rmb for a single 30 day entry. Or that was what I was charged anyways. There are no posted prices and its cash only with no receipt except for your passport pickup. That's like $65 USD.
You can pay another 150rmb for 2 day or 100rmb for 3 day processing. For 400rmb, they should process it in three days like they used to before, but now you'd pay 500rmb. The office is still like deserted most of the time, so why does it take longer now and cost extra. If you opted for 2 day, thats like $90 usd. All other neighboring countries charge like $25usd.
The rest of and cope review is still good for hours and location.
