@tiger: I don't doubt you, but there are also many folks you don't get laduzi so often, and who do get it once in a while in other places. Yes, anecdotal. My guess is that it IS more common in China than in some other places, but my experience is that it's not so likely here as to discourage me from eating out, and in fact it's not been any serious problem for me here beyond the infrequent day with a bad stomach.
Had geriardia once in India, took a week or 10 days to get rid of it with meds from local doctor. It was a bit unpleasant, but neither was it terrible.

Thousands displaced, rail service halted by Yunnan mudslides
发布者I have just returned from a brief trip to Jianshui and rode through about 1&1/2 hours of Miandian Township of Jianshui County. Steep hillsides, and from the road I saw the aftereffects of 3 landslides - nothing quite as dramatic as what is described here and I saw no slides which had fallen on habitations or villages, but if there had been downslope villages or houses they would have been in serious trouble.
Snapshot: Spending a day in Achang country
发布者Nice photos. Not quite clear what is meant by "of Burmese descent" - migrated into Yunnan from what is now Burma at some point? Or members of a cultural group that has been in place, on both sides of the modern border, since before the border was established?

发布者It'll likely be a real mess for years, as has been, and still is, the case with Renminnanlu.
