Kunming South bus station - at 10:30, 12:30 and 18:30 - I checked (search was: "Yuanyang bus" Yunnan). My guess is you want to visit/see the rice terraces from above - the bus goes to Yuanyang xinjie (new town) - take local minibus from there (about an hour).
South Bus Station, I think - you can buy ticket at small RR/bus ticket shop just across 121 Street from north end of Wenhuaxiang (or any other such shop in Kunming, there are quite a few), they will know. That's what I'd do - sorry I can't be more helpful.
I won't disagree with gun control, but I really don't think it's a bad idea to attempt to identify, with information and analysis rather than merely with the heat of justifiable anger, the social causes of violence. of course it is not merely a matter of the person of Donald Trump, or any other single persons, including the deranged individuals who shot up Vegas today, Orlando 2 years ago, and others - or, for that matter, the violence of organized groups. If it were, the solution would be pretty simple. Gun control, particularly in the US, okay, but that can never be enough and it can't stop there. There is no simple, immediate one-off solution, I'm very sorry to say.
@redjon: right - putting it in the same discussion is not only inaccurate, it's downright dangerous, especially for kids who don't know & who are tempted to experiment.
Sections of rivers that flow through different nations cannot be thought of as, simply, national property; national regimes ultimately cannot deal adequately or justly with global problems, because they will not.
Spartans, Guangzhou is farther away than Chongqing, but you can get to Guangzhou by train in less than 6 hours. Is the flight faster? So what?
I've observed that it's often the case that the faster you go, the less time you have.
Not quite what you'd call a jumping place, but not bad at all for rather standard US-type meals, not overly expensive, and with a really good salad bar that's cheap, or free with most dinner dishes after 5:30PM. You can get a bottle of beer or even wine if you really want to, but I've never seen anybody do it - maybe that's just to take out. Chinese Christian run, and they hire people with physical disadvantages, who are pleasant and helpful. Frequented by foreign (mostly North American) Christians and Chinese Christians - was started by a Canadian couple associated with Bless China (previously, Project Grace), who are no longer here, but no religious pressure or any of that. Steaks are nothing special, and I avoid the Korean dishes, which I've had a few times but which did not impress me.
As a shop and bakery, it's very good bread at reasonable prices, of various kinds (Y18 for a good multigrain loaf that certainly weighs well over a pound. Other stuff too, like granola and oatmeal that is local, as well as imported things, including American cornflakes and so forth, which some people seem to require.
Large portions, seriously so with the pizza, which is Brooklyn/American style, I guess. Convivial, conversational, good place to drink with good folks on both sides of the bar, especially after about 9PM.
