just a heads up for those new to kunming... this is one of the worst weeks of the entire year to get a taxi. between 4 and 8 i wouldn't even bother trying unless it is necessary. and even if you do manage to flag one down just be aware that traffic will also be at its worst.

Forums > Food & Drink > Local Organic Vegetable Delivery... Interested??

We are relaunching organic vegetable pick-ups at Green Kunming and Salvador's Organics. Deliveries of assorted 3 kilo vegetable assortment will be made on Wednesdays. These assortment will focus more on staple veggies, different from the random mixes we used to get. For now, orders will need to be placed in person at Salvador's Coffee House by the Monday before delivery at a cost of 45元. If you are interested, please give an 'aye' on this thread so we can estimate this first week's order.

yes, drought is still a huge problem. We still have our water cut off for half of every day at our restaurant. The reservoirs are still very low and we need at least two more rainy reasons like this one to get back to normal. I think most farmers in the province would disagree with any notion suggesting that the draught is anything but real.

Salvador's Meituan will be open starting tomorrow. You can also order for takeaway and both Salvador's Coffee House and Salvador's Mosaic Bistro. We will be open from 10 am to 8 pm, though tomorrow might be a slow start as we have loads to prepare. Hopefully there will be a time in the near future where we can open the doors to everyone again. Take care out there.

@mihani, staying open has not been about revenue. we will lose nearly the same amount of money each day whether we stay open or closed. our staff have made the decision each morning on their own about whether or not we should remain open to keep providing food to our customers. it was in fact our goal to lead by example by staying open and offering people a safe and comfortable atmosphere in the midst of everything going on.

I'm leaving this review for one of my staff. She just return from Dali and fell in love with this little restaurant in Dali. Very nice owners cooking up delicious and healthy Chinese cuisine with an open kitchen and local "organic" ingredients. I'll have to try it out myself next time.



I'm disappointed in myself for even considering giving this place another chance. I wanted to give my 4-month old a chance to see some live animals and I was sure that there was no way that the Kunming Zoo was as bad as it was 15 years ago. Somehow it was worse. It's disgraceful that with all of the changes that this city has undergone in the last two decades that this zoo still lacks any sense of decency or morality.



At nailer and tallamerican, I'm sorry to hear about your recent experiences. We wash everything with purified water and make all of our food fresh daily from whole ingredients in order to avoid any problems. We will review our procedures to assure that we continue to provide the safest and healthiest menu options possible. I hope you'll give us another try and I'd be happy to buy you a coffee if you are around any morning.

@GoKunming, it would be nice if there was a zero star option for reviews so that business owners can contribute without having to rate ourselves. I kind of feel like a d-bag giving myself stars 1-5. For some reason I settled on 4 as the least douchey ;).
