Wu Ling Yuan in Zhang Jia Jie, Hunan is a UNESCO site but it has nothing to do with the movie Avatar. The movie was NOT filmed here but this scenic spot did put a statue of Avatar here and most people incorrectly believe the movie was filmed here. Great way to deceive the public and charge the ridiculous 400 Yuan entry fee.
Shi Bao Shan in Jianchuan, Dali is a Historical and Cultural site of Yunnan. It is NOT a UNESCO site as evidenced by the 5 UNESCO sites of Yunnan I previously listed.
A while back I heard that China will introduce a 500 Yuan banknote, similar to the ones used in Hong Kong.
Italy is home to the greatest number of World Heritage Sites with (49) sites, followed by China (45) and Spain (44).
Yunnan is home to 5 UNESCO sites.
1. Lijiang Old Town - Lijiang
2. South China Karst – Stone Forest - Kunming
3. 3 Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas
4. Chengjiang Fossil Site - Chengjiang County – Yuxi
5. Yuan Yang Terrace - Honghe

I have visited 14 of the 45 sites so far and I am eager to visit the remaining sites.
These are the course materials for the IPA certification:
1 - Chinese Culture - 中国文化科目 - zhong guo wen hua ke mu
2 - Modern Chinese - 现代汉语 - xiandai han yu
3 - Teaching theories of teaching chinese to foreigners - 对外汉语教学理论 - dui wai han yu jiao xue li lun
A lot of History including many historical sites of China. The most difficult part is the Culture because most students are lacking knowledge in History and Geography.
The reason I started this thread was to inform both the Chinese (Teachers) and the Foreigner (Students) as to what the proper credentials are for advertising or looking for a chinese teacher/tutor.
If anyone is interested they can call some of the ads posted here for chinese teachers and ask some of the basic questions I listed previously. You will be amazed at some of the responses you will receive.
Additionally, of those who do have a Mandarin certificate, it is over 3 years old and the new test is now computerized and unbiased. Previous tests were administered by individual universities and were therefore very biased. I have tested this theory with many of my own students and their scores drop when taking the new computerized Mandarin test.
The main reason for the higher standards is not because of the language (Chinese) knowledge but for the lack of general knowledge that most university graduates have. I have found that most university graduates know nothing about everything

The new Visa office is located at 118 Tuo Dong Road. There is no number on the building yet so do not bother to look for it. There are 2 passport photo shops on either side of the building. The office is located directly in front of the Kunming Museum. The bus stop is named - Shi Bo Wu Guan - Bus 1, 62, 109, 117, 145, 213, A1 and K3 stop directly in front of the office. Foreigners need to go to the 3rd floor. The Tuo Dong Stadium is located to the right of the office while Baita Road is located to the left of the office.

发布者The agenda is very clear as it is clear to what is happening in the last few decades all over the world; To normalize the abnormal. For those who still have the courage to call a spade a spade, I applaud you. For the corwards who hide behind political correctness, you have that right, just as those who state the obvious have a right to free speech on this forum. If this was an article on the Rocky Horror Picture Show coming to China, then the attire is appropriate. This person obviously wanted attention, well he got it. Once again the same issue comes to surface. All humans have the right to do as they please as long as they are not harming others. Clearly, this man has the right to dress as he pleases because he is NOT harming anyone. People have the right to keep private what is private just as they have the right to make public those things which are private. It is obvious that this man knew exactly what he was doing when he submitted this picture. The agenda is clear whether you agree or not. He wanted attention and he got it. If he usually dresses like this in public as some people here have already mentioned than it is not the first time and he knows exactly what he is doing and he does this on purpose and with a goal in mind.

发布者Bjtokm - I agree with you and your comments as your are merely pointing out the obvious, the pink elephant in the living room, the emperor with no clothes, or the man dressed in drag. I see no judgement made on your part. You just were the first to make an observation. The name calling began when others started calling you childish and unintelligent. As for the ridiculous comment about you putting your own picture online, I find that comment irrelevant and absurd. I am sure if you posted your picture online you would not put a picture of you in your underwear, or naked or dressed in drag. You never mocked the appearance of this person you just asked a very obvious question.
Kunming ranks fifth nationally in expat poll
发布者Well said Geogramatt! I have been living in KMG for 10 years and there is so much to see here. I just got back from Mengzi and the old train stations there are wonderful. Great for those who love history and trains.
