Went to Greenery Cafe the other day and they told us to order our food on we chat. We told them to give us a paper and pencil - Haha! I dont think I will be going there any more.
I dont know about others but it takes me longer to send a text message then it does for me to call and make my point and move on. Some people have sent me messages that are so long that it comes out on 2 seperate messages. Anyone who knows me knows they must call me on the phone because I do NOT read messages. I just delete them at the end of the week along with the 10 other china mobile messages I get.
People tell me it is cheaper to send a message then it is to call and I ask them how cheap can they be that they can not make a 15 sec call - But they have a 3000 RMB phone - I don't get it - Haha!
As a matter of fact, I just purchased my 3rd cell phone here in China. The other 2 were perfectly fine but the battery ran out and I could no longer get replacements. The grand total for my 3rd phone was 399 RMB. The requirement for my new phone was big keys and the same recharger as my previous 2 phones.
I see people spending 2,3,4,5000+ RMB on phones I ask myself what for?
Used to be people hated the big (Bricks) cell phones that first came out. In time they got smaller and smaller - so small my fingers could not use any of the keys. I felt like the Rockman on the Fantastic 4 Movie hitting 3 keys at the same time. Now the phones are getting bigger again because most people want a bigger screen.
MSN or Yahoo, dont know which was first. But was asked to join so can chat with so-called freinds, Then came Likeden, Facebook, Twitter and a whole bunch of others. Came to China then it was QQ. Now you tell people you use QQ and they look at you like a dinosaur. I guess people have profiles and pictures in at least 5 of these things. Can't delete any of them even if you try.
Here goes. Forgive my ignorance - but what is the purpose or benefits of Wechat? Serious question but I am certain I will be laughed out of the ballpark.
Hoekie I have a few questions.
- Have you been to China before? Where? When?
- Do you know where you will be working? Where?
- What age is your daughter? Grade?
Rule of thumb is to find a place less than 1 hour travelling distance from where you work and where your kids go to school. These 2 factors should narrow the area you are looking for.
The purpose of a real estate agent is so they can earn 1 months rent when they lease you an apartment. They are NOT interested in getting you what you want - they just want to make their commission. As was mentioned earlier, you only get an agent when you know exactly the 2 km area you are looking for.
Public transportation is very good in Kunming but the traffic problems will be your greatest obstacle.
They would never have begun building the metro unless they knew that they will be making a profit. They do make a profit and the profit will only grow more with time.
Drones? How about the last 60+ plus years of murder and mayhem. Take your pick - Iran in 1950s, Nicaragua, Chile, Iraq 1990s, again in 2002, Afghanistan, Lybia, now Syria. The list is endless. All provoked by the USA and western allies, not in defense of anything - plain and simple - the aggressor.
All of this and more to come is a direct result of the chaos the USA is creating all over the world. The world can never have peace as long as the west continues to murder in the name of democracy. Look at how good life is here in China, a communist country.
The new Visa office is located at 118 Tuo Dong Road. There is no number on the building yet so do not bother to look for it. There are 2 passport photo shops on either side of the building. The office is located directly in front of the Kunming Museum. The bus stop is named - Shi Bo Wu Guan - Bus 1, 62, 109, 117, 145, 213, A1 and K3 stop directly in front of the office. Foreigners need to go to the 3rd floor. The Tuo Dong Stadium is located to the right of the office while Baita Road is located to the left of the office.

Monkeys menacing Qujing cornfields
发布者So why is the monkey in the picture eating a roasted corn? Looks like he stole it from a BBQ vendor selling roasted corn.
Kunming's metro could cost 300 billion yuan

Hani terraces garner UNESCO status
