Some good comparisons I have heard over the years.
Chinese drive the same way they play chess - on the lines, not in the box (lanes). Driving is a new (10-15 years) phenomena here in China. But after 12 years I see a significant difference on a daily basis. When driving from Kunming to Dali just about every other car drove on the line 12 years ago, now those are the minority and they are horn blasted out of the way by passing trucks, buses and SUVs - change on an individual and group level.
Religion (Buddhism, Taoism, + Confucianism) have all been intergrated and the average (40 - 50 years and younger) person can not answer simple questions about any of these aspects of religion. People go to temple to rub Buddhas belly and wish for luck and money - that is the extent of their knowledge. Mostly older people (over 60 - 3 generations ago) visit the temples and can answer many questions regarding dieties and practices. I know, I am the Temple king of Kunming and have visited over 256 temples in 5 districts.
Unlike other SE Asian countries where buddhism is a way of life and practiced daily by all members of the family. The tradition is still alive in younger people.
I mention these 2 to show how people and chinese culture are changing rapidly now - Mianzi is another such example.
To be rich is glorious - Deng Xiao Ping - This is all that matters now until it goes to far and the pendulum must swing in the opposite direction (Destruction of environment and destruction of Family values).
Lets see what the LAW has to say about this topic. These regs are from 2013 which I believe to be outdated as well as there is no mention of 72V Ebikes. Only mentions 48V and 64V.
This is a great topic to address with 12345 - the Mayors Hotline to get a clear answer as to what is legal and illegal. If anything, complaints will at least force them to update the regulations.
Internet has made people aware of some unusual Chinese Phenomena which are the result of the 1 Child policy which recently changed in 2015. Examples such as 421, Little Emperor, Hong Kong Kids, Boomerang Kids and the dramatic increase of kids going to school abroad at earlier ages (before was mostly for university).
All these factors are changing the Family Dynamics of chinese culture on an individual as well as a group level.
I have to disagree. As I mentioned earlier, my wife is presently attending many Parenting classes here in Kunming and other large cities that offer/conduct this type of training. The Family dynamic is changing and evolving very quickly right now and will see many changes throughout the next decade.
Again, this is due to western influence. All changes first must take place on an individual level (family) before they can evolve into group level chnages (business). The way of doing business is chnaging as a result of people changing.
Nicotine is an addictive substance that directly affects the levels of dopamine and noradrenaline in your brain. It quickly causes physical as well as psychological dependence on the substance and in a very short time a person will develop Tolerance to this substance which means they need it more and more to continue to get the desiried effects. This is why smokers will continually need to smoke more and more.
So if you want to ruin your life and be hooked on this garbage, go right ahead. I see some people who are always complaining about how expensive things are getting. How the price of food is so expensive and how fruit prices are soaring, but they will never stop paying over 500 per month for their precious cigarettes.
Ask a smoker how much they pay for a pack of cigs and ask them how much they smoke each day/week/month. Then you can figure out the cost of their addiction and how they are selfishly stealing from their own family!

I friend took me to an Indian Casino on a reservation when I lived in Southern Cali. I was amazed at the cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, and how so many people repeatedly went to break a $100.00 so they can continue with their gambling addictions.
On another ocassion I went to a Bingo Hall. My god, I was overwhelmed trying to blot out the numbers on just 2 Bingo cards and I could not believe how the Obese (food addicts) women with a cigarette (Tobacco addict) in their mouth could blot the numbers on 20+ Bingo cards (Gambling addict) while simultaneously stuffing donuts and apple fritters in their mouths.
The new Visa office is located at 118 Tuo Dong Road. There is no number on the building yet so do not bother to look for it. There are 2 passport photo shops on either side of the building. The office is located directly in front of the Kunming Museum. The bus stop is named - Shi Bo Wu Guan - Bus 1, 62, 109, 117, 145, 213, A1 and K3 stop directly in front of the office. Foreigners need to go to the 3rd floor. The Tuo Dong Stadium is located to the right of the office while Baita Road is located to the left of the office.
