I Am sorry, but this thread is not "narcissistic." It is very embarrassing to me, as a Westerner, to be perceived in the same light as obnoxious people. + This is a real, everyday issue for me, that I find really embarrassing.

I think these 2 statements sum it all up. There are good + bad people everywhere and in time you will realize this. I can feel that you are truly embarrassed every time a western misbehaves because you feel another westerner's behavior has some effect on you.

Just continue to be a good ambassador while a guest in this country and realize that one bad apple or a few bad apples do not spoil the whole bunch.

Also, be confident in your own behavior and do not let the bad actions of others impact you so negatively.

I am certain that most people also know this and I have found that most people will treat me in the same manner as I treat them and they do NOT treat me badly because of others' bad behavior.
