Can you two/ three break it up. This thread is about me.

What's "Top One"?
And more importantly, does anyone know a J.P or marriage celebrant I can use/ borrow/ hire?

Thanks for all the fantastic advice- keep it coming. Am keeping the numbers low as the future Mrs Chingis's family wont be coming as I will have to do a hotel style wedding back in her hometown.

Any ideas on some kind of ceremony would be much appreciated too. Jugglers, and fire-eaters maybe, I really have no idea. I'd be interested to know what you did lummer.

I find myself in a situation where I am getting married. It will happen end of Sept, and I envisage that there will be between 20-40 people attending. Basically the problem is I don't know where to hold a wedding or what to do. I checked out a couple of churches in Dali, but found them a little depressing, and besides which I'm not a religious man.
If anyone has been through this before I'd like some advice, seriously, because I have a few people coming from overseas so I figure they will expect some kind of ceremony. I think Kunming and Dali would both be OK, and I thought maybe in a nice courtyard or garden. As for the ceremony I'm totally at a loss. I like Seinfeld a lot, but think that perhaps stand-up comedy is not the thing for a wedding, so are there any other options?

A free case of beer to the person who comes up with the best advice.

"If it is done properly the money can be used to increase herd as well as buy more land if needed and otherwise fund projects for restoring the wildlife in China in general."

From what i read this is a business so why would anyone have reason to think any profits will be used to fund conservation projects?

And I'm not convinced that giving people guns to shoot cows at point blank range does much for conservation education. Possibly something I'm missing though...

Try as I might, it's impossible to feel any sympathy. A member of one group of thugs is beaten up by some members of another group of thugs. He should stop complaining and go back to Kansas if he doesn't like it.

Lesterness, are you suggesting the Kunming city officials are American, or the dark hand of the American government is influencing Kunmings policy when it comes to street vendors?

Tell me more...

Babs' pizza is not bad at all, and Im not exactly sure how it could be swimming in oil even if it tried.

"In January 2012 we ended up with a lazy cook that produced very inconsistent dish quality, one day good, the next terrible, especially obvious on Pizza. Because it was just before Chinese New Year we could not fire him without problem staffing the kitchen."

Interesting that you made the decision to serve often "terrible" food, which people had to pay for presumably, rather than just close the kitchen until you could find a cook that didnt serve terrible fare. If I were you, and having been to your establishment once I speak with limited experience, I'd be extremely grateful with the 4 stars you already have

Is this place new, has it just changed to a fantastic new menu, or are there other forces at play here?

Any old timers or Michelin- rated French chefs who have recently moved to KM been here?

"chongzijia" would it be wrong of me to assume you had a relationship with this guesthouse? If so don't you think you should state this up front, and possibly abstain from giving a star rating?
Actually I think if you pay for an ad you are able to write an intro for your business...

Otherwise your review may appear to be slightly disingenuous? These reviews have low enough credibility as it is. Just a thought.

I went there over the winter. Beer was nice and cold but the bar appeared to have no roof. Perhaps it has one now...
