Event: Living Threads — Celebrating Yunnan's Sani Culture
发布者Shicui Culture Center is a nice place to hold the event. almost like a beer garden. Hopefully Living Threads will bask in *Sani* sunshine next Saturday, although thunderstorm is the current forecast. GoK crew may want to prepare canopies just in case. Wishing the documentary & event a roaring success.
Seven billion yuan Green Lake area renovation to take three years
发布者The northern walking path of Green Lake has narrowed considerably. It's making way for the loud banging construction in the vast empty lot directly north of it, stretching all the way up to the south gate of Yunnan University.
Apparently they are creating an enormous underground public parking lot. Above it, it will be a greenery extension of Green Lake, which is good news. The KRT (subway) station won't be situated here, but perhaps north of Kunming Zoo.

Law prohibits new shared bike companies from coming to Kunming
发布者Many of these bikes aren't broken. Chenguan confiscate even new ones just because they aren't parked within the designated yellow lines forming a rectangle with a bicycle logo painted in it. I've seen Chenguan carry them onto the back of their trucks even though the assigned parking for shared bikes are just a few meters away. Moreover, public parking attendants throughout the city would misplace them on purpose to make room for their ebike spaces. The penultimate destination are mass bike graves similar to the ones seen in The Atlantic link shared by lemon lover. Their ultimate fate, it seems, is to be destroyed.
