Forums > Travel Yunnan > Best destination for visa run It depends if you're looking for a cheap trip to cross a border and reset a visa or need visa office services while out of the country. Other countries/cities seem to be reluctant to offer visas unless it's your home country... it can be OK but isn't exactly reliable. The one 'reliable' office in this respect appears to be HK.
Forums > Travel Yunnan > Kunming > Macau One way is to take a (high speed) train to Shenzhen and then a ferry to Macau. there are more direct and faster routes but that way might be the cheapest.
Forums > Travel Yunnan > Hong Kong by rail via Shenzhen I have no idea where the entry/exit pointss are for the respective stations but the bus service there is usually very good. I had to get from SZ airport to the Hong Kong/Macau ferry port and the distance made it look like it was going to be difficult but a public bus was available. Easy.
Forums > Travel Yunnan > Sim card for tourist you may find it difficult to buy a SIM card with your passport, especially at smaller stores. It's best to head to the main office, to buy the SIM or just ask a Chinese friend to buy one for you.

Divine Prototypes: The natural terraces of Baishuitai
发布者If you'd like to experience the kind of place described by the article then get there soon! a typical Chinese walkway is being built around the whole area while some pools are already fenced off with the usual over-enthusiastic 'guards'. From the walkway you can't really get a good view of the different pools either. Also, expect the entry fee of Y28 to shoot up once work is completed. As a final point, Baishuitan is small but well worth a visit.

Chinese team triumphs at 24-Hour Plateau Challenge
发布者well done to Irina and the 2 European guys (sorry, I don't know your names). Apparently they were the only foreign team to finish within the time limit and I'm told that only 14 teams completed the course of the 30(?) teams that started.
