There's a modded apk version downloadable online, named "Stabiron". It's basically a cracked one in which you can simply change email every 7 days to make it work. Although I repeat this service is of low quality, I am interested to see if it works when I am back in censor land. (To be used as a back up service only)

You know you are using pretty much the worst service which is out there... Although fast and supposedly reliable, the company is selling your data, profiling you and you pay premium for all the spam advertisement found basically in every second web site you surf. Their Ponzi scheme is another hint about their low-level marketing practices. And their app is injected with Google and FB spyware.
But at least they are useful so that every time a ranking is to be found, if it shows this service in their list, you know it's a biased ranking not to be trusted...

In the square by the entrance of the East gate of Yunnan Finance and Economics University, by Panlong river, there are young guys training doing slaloms and other tricks. Perhaps it is still too early in the season, but they will start soon. They practice in the evenings. It shouldn't be an internal sport club, rather a spontaneous gathering.

Remember that all your arguments are still very general.

Your life in KM will greatly depend on your personal attitude to pollution and related circumstances.
You spend 1/3 of your day in your bedroom, keep that room oxygenated yet free from PM's.
Will you cycle, scooter in the traffic? Wear a properly fitted mouth mask. If you drive, it's inside the car where you will develop your lungs' cancer, sort of like you were smoking (and that's kinda fair).
If you work in a shared office with Chinese, you will have to cope with constantly open windows, no matter the season and the temperature. At rush hour their noses cannot smell the smog coming inside, no matter whether they had been living in Tiger leaping gorge till the day before. So you will have very little power to change that environment.

And of course where your flat is going to be located makes an awful lot of a difference, no matter the AQI index of your neighborhood station. In fact, by moving an AQ meter in different rooms, you will notice the difference (properly insulated windows are more important than air purifiers)

Good luck with your choice!

Thanks for the info. I recently tried those in Guangzhou and Shenzen. They are great! No need to find a specific parking station. You just leave them anywhere you want and scan a QR code with the app. Through a geolocalised chip connected to the net they work like a charm. I guess the KM ones don't provide this option... And they will be small, suited for the standard Chinese body.

Driving in KM is doable also for a foreigner as long as you are a skilled driver, so to avoid the bad ones around. If you are a northern European who keeps 20 meters safety distance between cars, then you'd rather give up.
Most foreigners choose more ecological means of transportation in town anyway. Alas the locals do not learn the lesson.
How about the ecologic cars on display at this auto show? The rest does not interest me.

And how about reinforcing feet binding on the bus drivers to see whether they become lighter on those brakes?

The location of this station will drive any average Kunming citizen crazy. It takes longer to get to the station than to the next province by fast train. People chose to travel by train because train stations are located at a closer location than airports. This won't apply in Kunming. That's really poor planning, regardless of those who say they think ahead of time and have located the station right there!
