China Eastern is a terrible airline which I only fly if no other option available. Few times i have flown with them we have been 3-4 hours late in taking off. Every time the staff has been unwilling or unable to give any reasons for the big delay. People when they are missing their connections, become angry when an airline will not be courteous enough to even tell them why, after getting to the airport early, and already sitting for 1-2 hours waiting for your flight, you must sit for 3-4 more hours on very uncomfortable chairs.

Obviously i assumed most of the readers of this forum understand sarcasm. Sorry for my mistake, i was not being serious. I know this is China and logic does not always have a place, but i like nnoble think maybe a bigger plan in the works.

Yes, and in a few months they will be tearing down the new restrooms, removing the trees, ripping out the sidewalks, replanting the weeds on the boulevards that a crew of 10-15 people spent over a week removing, yes they did bag the weeds maybe saving them for later use. I suppose they will put all those beautiful new street cleaning machines in storage. And my poor friend who has a several million RMB contract for planting thousands of flowers in the north over the next few years will lose his contract.

Most of change i am seeing is focused near the Panlong river. From Linyu road to the Waterfalls park they have added or in processing of adding 6 restroom facilities. They have planted a lot of new trees along the river, and replaced, or cleaned the sidewalks on either side of the river. Last year they added traffic lights on the roads on either side of the panlong. With so few places to relax outside in kunming i think officials are trying to make this an attractive place for people to walk, bike or just sit by the river.

Saw 2 Mobikes on the bottom of the Panlong river today. Were thrown off the bridge by the Waterfalls park. Had the bright orange rims. People are already dumping them in the middle of the sidewalks.

If you like walking, best way to get to falls is just walking on very nice new parkway along the Panlong River. Just do not go on weekends or holidays. Also i went one evening for a walk thinking the falls would have lighting and it was dark. Sign 2 weeks ago gave hours for viewing falls from 9-5.

Great western dinner at a reasonable price. The salad bar is a wonderful bonus if you order a dinner meal. I like to get their early just after 5, then salad bar is especially fresh and full of all the selections. Staff are my favorite in Kunming. They are friendly and attentive, but not over bearing. Give you menu and then give you time to make a selection.



Recently i wrote a review that after eating beef burritos at Salvadors i ended up with a bad stomach ache and the last time a case of severe diarrhea. It was commented later that maybe the sour cream was a factor, and that may be true. My only dairy is milk in my coffee and i have noticed i sometimes end up with a stomach ache after drinking 2-3 cups in the morning. I make my own sour cream for tacos i make at home and will have to pay more attention to how that affects me in the future.



Metro has many things i cannot find other places, but i still find it a frustrating place to shop sometimes. Seem to frequently be out of things. For example their was very little fresh meat to choose from and actually they were out of many things and i was their just after lunch. They had no loaves of toasting bread and could not tell my wife when they would be getting more in. In looking at the fresh date on Hormel ham it had expired in September. However for first time i was able to shop all the aisles. Not filled with merchandise to be stocked or fork lifts.



To all those expecting an authentic Irish Pub come on we are after all living in China. I have eaten there several times and the burger is still the best in Kunming in my opinion. Staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. Place is not perfect but what is in CHina. Owners have been wonderful in opening up early for special events like the US Super Bowl.



Went for Pizza special tonight. Had the Barbeque chicken and it was very good. Also enjoyed an exceptionally large order of French Fries. Everything was good tonight and owners where not there.
