Down the drain.
Down the drain.
@vicar.
Still think you should see Geezer to brush up on your maths.
In your line of reasoning people are never drunk because the percentage of alcohol looks like nothing in the whole scale of things. Taking medicines does not work because those few milligrams looks like nothing in the whole scale of things.
@vicar.
You love your "CO2 has nothing to do with it" hobbyhorse.
Well study the report I mentioned above. Get your mathematics updated (Maybe Geezer can help you with this) Then read these reports again and then you can come back to me.
@Geezer
This discussion is getting way out of proportion. Am here painted as an alarmist who thinks we will all drown etc. Well don't think so. What think is that climate change is real and will have, and already has, serious implications.
Those who believe that climate change is happening are depicted here as naive and unscientific.
Well at least we are in "good" company:
EPA = United States Environmental Protection Agency
www3.epa.gov/climatechange/basics/
The Pentagon
www.climate.gov/[...]
UN-IPCC
ipcc.ch/pdf/assessment-report/ar5/syr/AR5_SYR_FINAL_SPM.pdf
EU
ec.europa.eu/clima/change/causes/index_en.htm
www.eea.europa.eu/themes/climate
I am depicted here as injecting ideology into the discussion.
You, Vicar and Napoleon probably will argue that the above are "Big Government" and therefore evil or even worse EU and UN even bigger government even more evil.
No you rather believe in an Australian mining specialist called Plimer who is a corporate director at several mining companies.
Or ClimateCooling.org a conspiracy website with terms like "Climate Gate" and "Just found: CIA cooling Report" of 1974. A website on which the owner himself however claims:
"The probability of warming may be greater, but cooling's mass starvation begs us to plan for both - J. Everett"
(And indeed climate change might be as well lead to a cooler planet)
Or conservative websites (One of which claims that Gorge Bush was not conservative enough and has links with Dick Cheney) like National Review and Daily Caller.
Your statement that "blind adherence to any ideology is quite anti-science" I fully agree with. But is your obsession with 97%, which by the way was introduced into this discussion by yourself, is to say the least quite obsessive.
It would be better to use your mathematical skills to explain the Vicar that what he calls a trace element in the atmosphere is seriously changed with only a little addition.
Frankly I don't give much for Polar Heating and the ice bear having to swim a bit further between ice shelves. What I do care about is the direct impact it has on humanity. In conflicts like the one in Syria climate has an influence. The further disturbance of weather patterns will have even greater impact in places like India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
But apart from global warming our overconsumption of fossil fuel leads to a worse air quality and the sustenance of despicable regimes like that of Saudi Arabia and Putin's. Our hunger for oil ads as well to rather questionable extraction methods like fracking and the use of tar-sand. That is for me enough to use it as little as possible.
I agree with OP and in this case Napoleon.

To entice more travelers, Yunnan scenic areas cutting prices
发布者I like this A rating system:
AA means doubtful.
AAA means don't go
AAAA means absolutely don't go
AAAAA means avoid at all means.
Overpriced tourist trap of no cultural value or overcrowded place of natural beauty which has been destroyed by misguided attempts to improve it.
Lijiang Old Town bans certain businesses, promotes others
发布者If real this would mean closing down three quarters of all businesses in Lijiang. Looking forward to it but don't believe in it.
And how much spirulina and macca can a normal human being consume?
Delayed for years, Sino-Myanmar pipeline revived during meeting of presidents
发布者Small correction:
The pipeline goes under-ground, not above-ground.
Four years after murder conviction, Yunnan man walks free
发布者Indeed a good example why death penalty is a bad thing. Teaches as well why you should not be "too drunk to offer an alibi ".
Kunming's bike share options: A user guide
发布者Indeed it looks at first glance that the OFO bikes are suffering more than the others. The build quality is surely less than MoBike. I regularly come across a MoBike team collecting bikes and depositing them at metro exits. Never so an OFO team. Broken bikes will stand for days along the road sides.
Often I am amazed about the amount of damage done to these OFO bikes. Not only the locks are removed but there are quite some bikes with the tires removed and the tubes cut. Some bikes have their pedals removed. For both acts you will need tools. Common as well is the scratching away of the QR codes. Maybe they are sabotaged by the other companies ???
