I had my passport water damaged while living in Nanjing and had to to make a quick trip to Shanghai to my embassy, to get a new passport.
After arriving in Shanghai, I proceeded to get a hotel room, Motel 186 didn't just refuse my color copy of the damaged one, they called the police on me without telling me. I mean, This was a hotel that I had stayed more than 6 times before in the last 6 months.
The receptionist called this fat manager that then called the police, but didn't tell me that they did this.
My mandarin's not that bad, I realized their aggressivity and paranoia and went out to get a taxi and find a new Hotel, as I had an appointment with my embassy in the morning to retrieve the new passport.
As I looked out of the taxi I then saw 2 police cars arriving at the scene ...
I went to the outskirts of town and found a hotel that accepted me.
Don't play around here in China without your passport, you're gonna get screwed.
I'm 6'3 and wear 47 shoes. it's im-po-ssi-ble to find in regular stores, however when I was living in Nanjing I met a laoban that is specialized in tall men clothes and shoes.
Now, I just buy from him. He has great quality looooooooooong legged jeans that won't make you look like a crab fisher and show your socks... Black, blue, summer, winter, thicker, chinos, khakis, you name it.
My legs are 114 centimeters, so regular pants (110) are like hip-hop shorts to me, and to make things more difficult I have a small waist, 32 or 33, I'm glad that that guy has my fit.
He also has some great looking shoes, black classic dress shoes, oxfords, brown shoes, boots, driving... everything. All 45,46,46,47,48,49.
Most of his clients are either from Harbin and many are basketball Players, lol. Let me know what you need and I will ask him. He usually send tons of pictures of options of what you need.
If I were a Kunming official I wouldn't be as concerned with bikes right now as with those Diesel black smoke puffing buses and trucks.
I got my US drivers license, autos only.
1The thing is I want to buy a fking kawasaki ninja (150) or something, how much for the dl's, license plates and shit?
2 U got guanxi? Let me know bout that on PM.
3 Do u know stories of anybody getting caught w/o one?
Well, relying on public transportation for years while I've been here hasn't been very manly, or practical, tough it is sure safe and cost effective.
No results found.
Call before you go, I went there on thursday and there was no one in there,
I called one of the owners, and they said that they weren't going to open.
I lost my trip, I love the concept of the restaurant, No MSG and etc, but ended up having to pay for a cab ride and getting a growling stomach.
If the same thing happens to you, just go down the road until the road ends and the last 2 story restaurant across the street is very also decent. Order the sweet and sour fish and it also won't have any MSG.
No Bus to Chenggong from the airport, had to go downtown and get a 150 RMB taxi.
I mean isn't this a district of Kunming? Then why not make transportation available?
thumbs down
Proposed hotel tax eyes Dianchi rehab
发布者So let me see if I get this right:
1 Turists have to pay for the pollution caused by factories.
2 Factories will not be charged anything.
3 The tax money will not be used to clean the lake.
4 Kuming party members will be able to afford Harvard tuition for their offspring and buy Aston Martins.
This is China...

发布者Stupid guy, everyone knows China and Asian countries are strict in their drug policies.
The drought: Good and bad news
发布者That's for AlexKMG and blobbes. Sorry I don't say you're smart for pointing out that meat indeed takes a lot of water to produce, I've learned this when I was on 6th grade.
Come on, if water is to be saved, shouldn't we instead stop the wasting in other non-essential activities, like the average chinese joe washing his overpriced car 2 times a week?
Meat is nourishing, loaded with protein, vitamins and minerals, using the drought to promote vegetarianism or reaching the conclusion that the best way to save water is decreasing the consumption of meat in a country that already has a minimal consumption is bullshit.

发布者Are you serious, eat less meat? Where have you been eating, Brazilian barbecue restaurants? Almost all of the population in China already eats the standard big rice bowl with traces of meat. Not a sound advice there buddy. I lift weights and will stick to my 300 g/day of protein. Thanks for going vegan to compensate for my muscles.
