Two issues:
First, the screening room sounds a bit small. You can comfortably fit about 50 at the Yuansheng Theatre in the Loft, and I'm sure they'd be happy to have you. I can help set that up.
Second, the 21st is opening day for the Yunfest Documentary Film Festival, which is where I suspect many of your potential viewers will be. Perhaps you could push it back a week?

They're a good bunch and have some awesome bikes. Be warned, though, the Saturday rides are pretty hardcore. So if you're not down for a sadistic ride, I'd suggest just renting a bike and going solo.

I'm against the dams, but it really hasn't been raining. Really.

What really happened is all in the above article, though the writer doesn't say it outright. A deal must have been struck before the summit: China gives some of the info it wants and plays nice at the summit if the other countries don't come out and point the finger at them.

It was palatable because the current drought really has to do with the lack of rain.

Bernie, what it means is that though volume of illegal timber has decreased, 90% of the total amount of timber coming through is still illegal.

Right next to my office, so I eat here pretty often. The place has a nice garden design with lots of outdoor seating for nice days.

A nice menu of Western food with solid brunch choices, fresh fruit juice mixes, and good salads. The burger is also very good.



Excellent Thai food served in a beautiful art deco setting. The bar is also top notch, with great cocktails, whiskys and cigars.

When the weather is good, try to get a table on the rooftop garden, which offers views of the Bird and Flower market.

May be a little pricier than some of the other Thai restaurants in town.



An exciting new gallery space built from an old factory warehouse in the Paoluda Creative Industry Park. Looking forward to seeing what they'll do with it.

A great little place in the middle of a beautiful valley chock full of great climbing spots.

The beds and rooms are very comfortable, though the bathrooms are shared, and of the "eco" variety (a plus as far as I'm concerned).

The owners are very helpful about everything from info on climbing spots to trip planning and getting around the area.

Also, the place is dirt cheap. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
