Spoken to a Myanmar man there who came from central Myanmar area. They have biger restaurant in Bao Shan with the name Shweli-Muse (Ruili-Muse, border towns) as well.

I searched Guang Fu Lu in Google Map, quite a long road and couldn't find Lao Jie. Would you give me more specific location please? My limited Chinese is not really helpful to communicate well in giving direction to Taxi drivers.:)
Till now, no tamarind paste nor fish paste found yet. Tried sweet tamarind before, useless. :)

Wa would be quite differ, Dai has much related to. I am looking for Burmese tipical curry and such, but not go up to Indian curry types.
Although border with Myanmar as well as direct flights between, cannot find any Myanmar restaurant in Kunming. Any info input, highly appreciated.

The food is good but of course cannot compare with Ganish. Anyway, nice choice for Indian food in Kunming.
Tried there, nice restaurant. Friendly if you understand Chinese. No way to communicate in English. Also met a Thai chef who came out from kitchen and greeted us.

food is just so so, but better service than Mekong Cafe.
we are at that cafe for third time, as usual badly managed one. We ordered beef stalions with blue cheese sauce, one of my friends got it after 1 hour but with black papper sauce and unchewablely old local beef. Welll my order never come for another half an hour more. At last, I asked them to cancel the order. Waiter who doesn't seen care nothing and no feedback from the owner who usually busy smoking or drinking all the time.
