Anyone know if some of the TP-link or other Chinese brand routers will let you change the firmware to something better like Tomato or DD-WRT?

If you use anjuke, you can see the last 3 years worth of data. I would guess prices are up about 50% over the last 4 years. Prices in Kunming have been rising much slower than other Chinese capital cities though.

I would hardly call Dali Old Town overdeveloped, unless of course you are talking about the tourism industry. It's quite backwards in most other regards.
The best way I could describe it is you get all of the inconvenience of living in a big city (noise, traffic jams, high cost of living) with few of the ammenities (reliable power and water, access to schools and hospitals, shopping, skilled workers etc).

Posted byThey have this program in many cities in East China. At least the city I'm living in it has been successful. I agree 15RMB is too much though. It should be more like 100RMB per month.

Posted byDespite the problems, I am still very impressed with the speed at which this line is being built. As I've mentioned before, in Toronto they've been promising extra subway lines for decades.
This article pretty much confirms what I suspected about line 5. At this stage, it's still possible they could pull the plug on it. I don't seem them finishing it by 2017 as originally envisioned. I'm even skeptical it could be ready by 2020.
