I was connecting to the VPN just fine while I was in Chengdu this morning. Now I'm back in Kunming and it will not connect on ANY of my computers, including the laptop I was using when away.
It thought it might be something to do with the router but found that my iPad will connect to the VPN with no problem through the router.
Connection speed to anything on the web is slow and without the VPN some sites are not reachable.
I thought the VPN was "restarting", but closer observation showed the internet connection would briefly drop just long enough to force the VPN to recycle itself. It's very annoying!
I had that problem two days ago, and I'm in Chengdu for the weekend. The VPN reset about every 2 minutes. I've had it before as well, most often around 4:00 p.m. for some reason.
You could also get lucky and find the exchange dealers at the airport have Thai Bhat, but they were completely out of stock when I went through. Strangely enough, when I returned the exchange dealer in Chiang Mai did not have any Chinese Yuan for me to change back.
I tried using my BOC card in Hong Kong at a BOC terminal with the Union Pay logo. I got a message back about the network not found. The same machine immediately accepted my Canadian bank card.
Could this be a random problem or is my card truly not going to work outside of mainland China? It does say "China only" on the card. I would like to be able to use my card in Thailand when I go there.
Had my first ever visit to Slice of Heaven last night for a group party. Barbara recognized me as a newcomer and immediately came to welcome me and introduce herself.
While speaking with her at the counter, a server walked past with a pizza for one table. The aroma immediately caught my attention. It was awesome.
Our group shared 4 different pizzas. All were amazing. I think the sauce really makes the difference since it was very flavourful. I also put back to cups of cappuccino. I guess they must have fixed problems noted in other reviews because I found it to be quite good.
