Thanks for getting back.
Do we assume you are male, about 30?
Do we assume that 8am is when you start running, so meet up and warm up at 7.45?
Do you need to bring 10 RMB to get into the park, if on foot? Or is it free early in the morning? I mention cash as some people may want to run to the meet.
If you are probably going to repeat this, it would be worth getting an industrial juicer. I think I saw one in Metro.
Just a thought, I have not idea of your plans.
If you are going to do a lot of this, to sell maybe?
There are a lot of apple orchards as you go out towards the stone forest. The first big town after you leave Kunming on the highway (past the toll gate), that whole area is orchards. You may get a good deal on windfalls.
When thinking about healthcare in general, it is worth remembering that sometimes you may need a hospital.
Chinese hospitals do not have the best reputation, but actually I did get very good treatment at KunHua hospital. That is the colloquial name. The First Peoples Hospital of Yunnan Province. This is listed as an international hospital, 157 Jinbi Lu Listing and map here www.echinacities.com/[...] There is a new wing (tall building) with all modern equipment. Nice wards.
Going private was not expensive. An angioplasty, and 2 weeks stay, with drugs, x-ray, CT, and nursing was about 50 000 RMB. This included one week in coronary care ICU.
The local hospitals are getting better. Just pick the right one.
Provisos:
1. You need a Chinese speaking person.
2. The nurses only do medical care, if you need someone to wash and feed you, etc. you need a family member (or there are ayis you can engage for a fee at the hospital).
3. You need to arrive at a pre-selected hospital. Do some research if you can. I appreciate this is not always possible for acute cases.
Just a suggestion, for home use buy juicers can be found in most big supermarkets here. Some of the new ones need little cleaning. They should pay for themselves quickly and the apples in Yunnan are very good this time of year.
Alternatively there are juice bars around town, but I am not sure where. Also a bit pricey.
I would be interested in learning more about these centers of artisan skills around Yunnan. For example Jianshui is a centre for a specific kind of pottery, and Dali is a center for marble work.
A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.
Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.
In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.
They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.
They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.

Posted byEdit - correction.. Whoring can be to act as a whore, or to consort with whores.

Posted byI kind of read whoring as the customer having sex with whores, no matter how they are procured. This is a different crime to prostitution.
Soliciting is the prostitute offering sex to a customer, in exchange for money.
