Hmmm, I seem to remember someone on GoKunming in the last year offering MaCBOOK Pro...didn't read much at the time, as mine was fine. Now its dead dead dead, and I am wondering if anyone out there remembers the post to which I refer?
if such thing truly existed, I would like to check it out!
Thanks!

I just found a visa service in Hong Kong that says they can do it:
www.fbt-chinavisa.com.hk/
You can get the 10-year visa for tourist or business, no residence permit. You do have to leave every 60-90 days. But do you have to go back to USA/Canada to get it, or can it be gotten in HK or Thailand?
Does anyone have any experience getting the new 10-year visas for US and Canadian passport holders from a third country, such as Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, etc?
Thanks
ps 10-year visas for Canadians just started 3 days ago
So I went by and got some silver pandas for 160 each. Thanks, good tip. Here's a stupid question though: say the price of silver goes up and I want to sell these things. How do I do that? Who buys silver coins?

DT Bar (Closed as of March 2019)
My favorite venue in town hands down. Nice big open place, courtyard, big stage, cheap drinks. Sunday afternoons here are my favorite, BBQ and live music. Highly recommend for Sunday afternoons and shows.
Salvador's Loft
Lovely restaurant with top-notch service and fantastic food. I love all the beets, avocados, brussels sprouts, asparagus, quinoa, and tempeh. At first glance of their new menu I was overjoyed to see so much deliciousness, then nearly passed right out from elation when I noticed most of it is vegan! In all seriousness though I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. Highly highly recommend!
Lost Garden Guesthouse & Café
Best pizza in town. Slice of Heaven's a close second, and a better value on their 20kuai pizza Fridays, but overall taste and selection goes to Lost Garden, hands down. I went there for the 3rd or 4th time for the pizza night last week. We sat on their roof terrace, which has been re-done very nicely since the last time I was there. The service was reasonable, and the waitresses even spoke some English! On a previous visit I had a pumpkin soup and a baked pasta, both delicious and well-presented. Anecdote: I was there once on a cold day a couple of months ago and the foreign manager (owner?) made my friend and I hot toddies upon request, even though they're not on the menu, and they were pretty much perfect. I have nothing negative to say about this place.
Cacao Mexican Restaurant (Defunct)
I ate here a couple of weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed. The place is huge, for starters. The outside patio is lovely and beautifully designed, and is the best place for a party or event I've seen in Kunming. The food was delicious, authentic, and well-presented. Except the ceviche. That was a bit disappointing, since the main ingredient seemed to be canned tuna rather than shrimp, octopus, squid, etc. But the tacos, guacamole, queso fundito, and flan (and I'm sure we got something else too but I can't remember what it was) were are amazing. Well worth it, and the prices weren't as high as they're made out to be. Pretty reasonable really, for what you're getting. Looking forward to a return visit.

Life in Kunming: Urban gardening with James Osborne
Posted byNice, James and Jordan! Great article. So grateful to James for all the work he puts in. For those who are interested in urban gardening, I would ask that chemical insecticides and pesticides not be used, as they kill bees, which are the cornerstone of a healthy natural environment.
