You probably don't need to see a chiropractor.

If you go to a top level massage expert, that will be fine, they can do spinal adjustments. I am not talking about the average walk in massage places you see on the streets.

Someone who is older than 35, takes patients by appointment, has an official title, graduated from medical school, is basically known as a master with students actually studying under them. You can often find them near spas, swimming pools, or working in the bigger hospitals.

They are more expensive than the street massage/blind massage, and you may need to be very clear that you want to see the master and not his/her understudies. Still, its faster, easier, cheaper than going out of town. And in a way, they are better than chiros, because they are like a physiotherapist, masseuse, and chiro rolled into one.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Starbucks coming to town?

Starbucks is, IMO, horrible and revolting. And their coffee is nothing to write home about. The one thing I do like about them is how hilariously and forwardly ideological they are.

I have no idea how anyone could both want move from the west to Yunnan, and yet hope for a starbucks to come here. If it comes to wen lin jie that would be funny though.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Where would you live?

After being in Kunming a little while, what neighborhood/area do you think would be fun to rent in?

I am thinking more about interesting, strange, or attractive views or scenery, and not so much about amenities.

Blobbes answer is about right, but one correction. Local meal is 5-25 yuan, not 5-12, excluding beverage.

Part of town is important. I have had a proper meal with 3 dishes- delicious, nutritious and big- for 6 yuan, and the same meal in a more posh area for 30. Also depends on how big you are, how active you are, how much meat you prefer, if the restaurant is a chain, if it is a known name, if they have waiters/waitresses, etc.

Good luck.

Tiger Tiger should be ashamed.
9 or 10 inches for a large pizza is not fine. This same tiny pizza will run you around 45 yuan, possibly more. The cities of Chicago, New York, and Seattle, should be called in to cast judgment on this Pizza Crime. It should be called a "small pizza" and cost 20-25 yuan. Desserts are OK but overpriced.
