Forums > Living in Kunming > VPN Update

I've searched for VPN information considering the recent VPN crackdown I read but the last one was 3 months ago. I am coming to China and wanted to know what are the VPNs that are currently being used successfully. I have used ExpressVPN in the past. Is it still usable? Are there any others especially with a free trial so I can evaluate them? Thanks

Forums > Travel Yunnan > New Airport Bus - 919

We are going to the airport. We are right on the route of 919b but not very close to the nearest station. Do we need to be at the bus station or will the bus driver stop if you flag him down? I know we can take a taxi but it would be great if we catch it practically in front of our door.

Thanks all for your replies.
Ouyang, got a question for you if you don't mind,
Does your booklet have a document (in English) that certifies that the English translation conforms with the original.
My certification states
"Issue under notarization: the translation is in conformity with the original. This is to certify that the English translation of the NOTARIAL CERTIFICATE (document NO. xxxx) attached hereto is in conformity with the Chinese original."
Does yours say something very similar or the same?

That is assuming you used a different Notary Public than I.
The reason I ask is that differs from what I have read that the translator must certify that they are fluent in English and Chinese and that the above/attached document xxxxx is an accurate translation of the xxxxxx document attached entitled. It must be signed by the translator.

I want to revise what I wrote. I just reviewed the document saw that their document was not a rewrite but that it attests that my wife did not have a criminal record up to the date of the original certificate but does not reference the original police certificate number. I want to add that the manager was quite adamant regarding their procedure and that all notary public do this the same way. To be frank the police certificate printed at the police station is only a 1/2 page and doesn't look very official except for the red stamp but I am still surprised they don't include it in the white booklet or reference its number. Again I want to stress we did not go to a translator but to a large Notary Public Agency that translates and certifies documents. We actually never met the translator only the person who notarizes the documents.

Hi,

I usually take the bus to Jinghong leaving from the South Bus Station.
In JH, you can catch a bus to Huay Xai Laos the next morning. I am not sure if there is a sleeper going to HX. You can probably buy the next morning bus after you arrive in JH.
I usually stay at Manytrees International Youth Hostel several nights before I take the morning bus to Laos.

You should arrive in HX in time to cross the border into Thailand. You can sleep 1 night at one of the local GHs and catch the Green Bus to CM in the morning or catch a minivan the same day at about 6PM to CM.
Hope this helps.
