More companies of all types are now questioning whether it's worth setting up businesses in China if they can on a whim change the rules. Look at Didi, Tencent, etc. If they can do that to their own companies, how much more can they do to foreigners. I'm curious to see how it will all play out in the next few months.
To me it's just common sense that you would want to protect your brain from trauma. Since the cop15 is around the corner they are cracking down on a lot of things. Let's see how long it takes before things go back to the way they were. Also this is a revenue generator. They did this for dog owners for a while. All dogs had to be registered and tagged. Look where that went. Overall it's a good thing if it stays in place. People need to be responsible.
