I own an older Bose QC (quiet comfort) series which has amazing noise cancellation. Works much better than earplugs. Though wire is restrictive, particularly in your workshop setting.

The latest Bose QuietComfort 35 II are wireless with smarter features. Blows away Beats headphones and any generic earbuds in terms of sound quality depth. Look for them on TMall flagship now for possible 11/11 promotions.

Ouch, price surge. My advice is always look for grand opening discounts. If not, then anniversary sales a year later. Also try taobao2 flea market where 2nd hand sellers may try to resale/scalp cheaper packages they've purchased earlier during sales events.

Hope your kid enjoyed his/her time there. Don't remember the floor level, but a humongous, indoor trampoline and climbing jump park at a corner is also worth a visit. Biggest one I've ever seen with giant trampolines. Very spacious. Supervised for safety by many staff members, with viewing deck for parents on upper floor like the ice rink. Perhaps next time.

As a self-proclaimed TMall singles' day savant, I want to let everyone know presales for many flagship stores is commencing at midnight, tonight. Three weeks prior to main event on November 11 to spread out the overwhelming purchases nationwide to alleviate logistic burdens.

For example, the flagship store for Konka, the number two TV manufacturer in China, is holding a special sale of their 65-inch 4K TV for only 2 grand. That's a steal.

30-minute window to make payments, between 00:00 - 00:30. No customer limits as far as I know, so very doable.

So get your Chinese friends to help you out if a bargain 65" 4K is on your x'mas wish list.

I myself don't watch TV, so will be trying to steal a cheap sofa on other TMall flagship stores tonight.

Reddit serendipitously featured an adorable video of a snub-nosed monkey (endemic to SW China) on their front page, on the eve of Kunming's biodiversity conference tomorrow no less:

This fluffy one being hand-fed appears to be a Sichuan golden hair monkey (aka Sichuan snub-nosed monkey). Video, rather than images, truly captures their essence.

It appears GoKunming has featured these sub-nosed monkeys quite a bit over the past twelve years. Looks like conservation efforts to stave them from extinction panned out.

Someone should let CNN know, Frank Losonsky died at age 99 earlier this year in February. Apparently he was the last remaining Flying Tiger.

A lengthy piece on Flying Tigers just published on CNN. Also a short video showcasing one of the last three living volunteer pilots, a 96-year old Losonsky. Cool pictures of the cool P-40 fighter planes in air are featured too.

The article even briefly mentioned Kunming...

"Chennault expressed his disappointment at his group's first combat mission against Japanese bombers attacking the AVG base in Kunming, China, on December 20, 1941. He thought the pilots lost their discipline in the excitement of combat."

Our collective love for Spring City is what fuels our solidarity. Much love to all.

Kunming Aegean Shopping Mall is now offering surgical masks on their official Wechat account. 50 masks for 120 rmb. Delivered to your door for those who may need them. The price is reasonable considering widespread price gouging on ebay, amazon, and the likes.
