It may help if you define what you mean by a nanny. A live in person could cost you the same as you would earn as a teacher.
If you mean hourly paid person, finding someone with that flexibility may also be a problem.
You should also consider that many employers would not be willing to employ a single mother, finding work may be difficult. I have seen local teachers, recently married, asked to sign contracts that they won't get pregnant, I know this is not your case, but it demonstrates the employment environment.

From my own experience I can see the healthcare in the large cities has improved dramatically in the last 10 years. Not only access to newer treatments, and standards of wards, but there has been a huge government crackdown on pharmaceutical and other costs, as well as corruption within some hospitals. One of the big hospital heads in Kunming was brought to book a few years ago.
Because of the Metro Line 5 opening in our area, we have just gained another 3 bus services in our area. We live in a area a little off the beaten track, before we only had one bus.
