so shouldn't this impact Carrefour in a positive way considering barriers to entry for foreign supermarket chains remain relatively constant? Though whispers in the grapevine forecast the entry of Costco in Beijing in the foreseeable future.

Carrefour is a listed company. Balance sheet is public and transparent. It comes down to bottom line not hitting targets in China.
