Forums > Living in Kunming > Kunming Taxi Service Is Very Good
If you're going to pay double, use the uber-like taxi services. Cars are nicer, cleaner, and drivers more professional.
Better to pay the professional than the price gouger. You MIGHT consider reporting the government agency responsible for managing the taxis to the State Discipline committee for potential breach of fiduciary duty...just a thought...

Forums > Travel Yunnan > 2.5 Weeks in Yunnan Alone With no Mandarin
Thanks for the link. Google services always been spotty for me.
FYI google.cn is actually a redirect out of HK, so sometimes it works, sometimes not.
baidu is china hosted, so if you can't get to it, it's usually just a heavy traffic issue.

If you have the money...well, if you had the money, you probably wouldn't be living in Yunnan, but I digress..
If you have the money, there are tax havens such as St Kitts, etc where the purchase of a house also counts towards the purchase of that country's sovereign passport.
Probably not realistic for many...

I think those fans also brought their own trash bags to clean up their own mess. That's a significant deviation from the Japanese in Japan where they chuck their trash all over the place (because there's a professional cleaning crew at all sponsored events).
