Forums > Living in Kunming > Now's the time to start a band

Any musicians, if you have time and want to consider starting up a band, I have just arrived to KM and plan to do just that.... anyone with decent ability at ANY instrument, western or Chinese, drop a line and we can get the ball rolling on this. If your locked into a particular genre of music, (I.E. you want to start a band that is classifiable as something like rock or folk) this is not the band for you. I have a few recordings of some things ive done mixing guitar and guzheng in the past, id be happy to share those too.... remember, the sooner we start, the sooner we start to get good.

Yeah, Kunming is a hard place to pick up a job. I locked one down about a month ago that starts september first, but for you I could honestly reccomend WEB english school. It is designed to be very smooth and effective for teachers, and if it is anything like where I live now the pay isnt too bad either. Good luck.

Yeah for real. After a thorough search for alternative sites to view from both China and abroad, it amazes me that for one, in Chinese webpages, the movie's title in both English and Chinese is not existant, and two, someone would go to so much work to make a documentary of this nature, only to make it so difficult to gain access to.

Patrick, how did you find the movie in the first place?

Awesome article, perhaps the most informative and useful 'Around Town,' I have ever seen. I have passed by the place well over 500 times going to work and although thought it seemed interesting, never gave it a real chance. Now I can simplify this article a bit, teach my students about it as well as some great vocab in class and walk there for a field trip. Keep it up!

Lost Garden's kitchen has became a Saratrical masterpiece! Great tea just the way it should be made, combined with tangy and titilating specialties from the south of the US, South of the border, and beyond! Rooftop is Kunmings top place to catch some rays and chill out with a book or some buddies and booze. Look forward to menu expansion and much love to the mastermind chef in the Kitchen!

After somewhat of an 'As You Like' hiatus, caused by work and life in general, I was lucky enough to find some time for a latte and a mushroom and cream calzone at lunch today. The place has continued to improve in both the categories of taste and general quality. Those who haven't been, I would say it is in your best interest to make an effort to find the place and if you are in the Wenlinjie/wenhuaxiang area, you'll discover its right under your nose. Great place to chill, relax, and get away from the traffic, noise, and distractions that Kunming brings your way.
