Yes! There's one I went to a few days ago with some clients that was amazing. It is a high quality Muslim (回族) place that is located up the hill from the old oxygen factory (氧气厂) near Huang tu po (黄土坡)on jindianshan road (金鼎山路), Just walk up the hill and about 80 meters up on the left you will see a large open alley way with a few eateries inside. Walk in and the third establishment on the left is a large looking place that has the characters 马克 at the end of the name. The inside is a 3 floor beautifully decorated dining room with thousands of antiques that are up to 100 years old. You can spend about 30 minutes walking around looking, and then go to eat. Really good experience and the food is really original and good too.

Did it two years ago and although I was covered in mud and blood at the end, (got socked in the nose by a cunt that was trying to put mud in my eyes, he got what was coming to him) had a really kickass time....worthwhile for anyone who likes it dirty, best enjoyed with an entire morning of local 佤族 baijiu and friends.

Awesome article, the Lahu are as diverse as they are fascinating and I have never had an opportunity to know more about Lahu outside of the 边三县 region. I feel like there are many characteristics of these Lahu that almost seem very Miaoesque, at least in clothing. Thanks Jim for an awesome article!

@Leo27, good suggestion brotha man, I'll do that. So after what had already surpassed what would be considered the healthy serving portion of laolao, I think I finally said that I wanted to get us some Beer Laos! So we came back with a box of large bottles and in an effort to be cool, I thought it would be a wise idea to open the first bottle of beer laos with my phone, cracking the screen internally rendering it unusable. Way to go me.

I would agree with Mr. Woodswoods and also argue that water reductions and outages should be city wide and not restricted to what seems to be the largest common people(老百姓) neighborhoods in the city.

@scally,

I'd be careful of how much information you provide to this Matt character. Lots of hunters from Georgia and I wouldn't be surprised if he was planning on using this as an opportunity to get in the ivory trade. Shame on you Georgia Matt!

Lost Garden's kitchen has became a Saratrical masterpiece! Great tea just the way it should be made, combined with tangy and titilating specialties from the south of the US, South of the border, and beyond! Rooftop is Kunmings top place to catch some rays and chill out with a book or some buddies and booze. Look forward to menu expansion and much love to the mastermind chef in the Kitchen!

Revolutionary in the grand scheme of food options for health nuts and herbivores in Kunming. From some spicy fresh spring rolls to rockin' lentil curries, a great option for anyone who likes healthy and unique!

After somewhat of an 'As You Like' hiatus, caused by work and life in general, I was lucky enough to find some time for a latte and a mushroom and cream calzone at lunch today. The place has continued to improve in both the categories of taste and general quality. Those who haven't been, I would say it is in your best interest to make an effort to find the place and if you are in the Wenlinjie/wenhuaxiang area, you'll discover its right under your nose. Great place to chill, relax, and get away from the traffic, noise, and distractions that Kunming brings your way.
