Xiaomi has recently started to sell a system, looks interesting
I also have to buy a TV, and was tempted by both Xiaomi and leTV. I guess they include a basic channel package for free, plus extra paying ones. Is there somebody who has tried both systems and would suggest one or another one here in Kunming? Thanks
I was also in Dali till Monday. That really worrying pollution that burnt my eyes and throat was obviously way more important than due to traffic. The fires at the border with Myanmar are really the only plausible thing. A friend of mine found evidence of those fires on a specific web site for fire management.
Despite the rain, that fume smell was quite detectable here in KM this afternoon too.
After many masks I tried, I am happy for now with the Totobobo one. Not fashionable, portable and soft as the fabric ones of various colours you buy in girl shops for less than 10Y, yet the seal around the mouth makes a big difference. I was inserting two different PM 2.5 filters into the nice fabric ones that go around the ears, but I was still worried about the space at the sides of the nose. With this new one, I took only two days for its two filters to become grey. That means less than 20km of cycling, done before this exceptionally high pollution! I will swap its original filters with some 3M ones that look thicker, though!
the above is chit chatting to me as been already tried or done for years. I just need a solution, if you have one.

Kunming's bike share options: A user guide
Posted byAmazing to see how from the beginning of 2018, Yonganxing basically disappeared and Alipay took over the lead with its blue and white bicycles...
I'd like to see some battery assisted ones, as I found once in Chengdu. Still no sign of them here.
Kunming university ponders fate of baby owl
Posted byIf it was picked up by bare hands, the human smell stuck on the animal would have prevented any "recovery" from the mother. Besides, how would a mother take back this baby to the original nest?? On her shoulder?! I am sure all these people teaming up to decide on this bird's fate must have had a look around the closest trees trying to spot a nest, but in general to me it sounds like nobody asked the local biology department for some advice !
Dual high-speed railways usher in new era for Yunnan
Posted byFrom the top pic it is evident the scars inflicted to both sides of the hills. One can just guess the amount of debris that fell into the water.
Kunming trees and utilities still suffering from January cold
Posted byI smell the stink of a corrupted politician taking up briberies in favour of this nonsense practice.
