I am out from China and before will return to Kunming, still need spend few days in Canton. So I need go sleep to some real hotel to registred me in first 24 hours in China if I am right? Normaly I use cheaper hotels which are in Guangdong not welcome for foreigners...

I am sure from my local police worker i need make new re-registration in Kunming because I leave China.
This things make me so strange, I always have fear to make something wrong......

Forums > Living in Kunming > Good Puer store

tea market is hot in prices this year. not easy to find good stuff for reasonable price. puer this year is again double in prices if compare with last year. if dont know the seller or nobody invite you to the shop, you will get horrible prices.
What is means less than 1000rmb for bricks ? Better look for cakes, bricks are normally low quality. Fermented or not fermented- sheng pu ? Old or new ? PM me if you want help or come drink cup of tea. But i am in Malaysia for tea now, so finish of this month will be back in Kunming.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Puji 2nd hand market no more

Most of antique stuff sellers move back to the Panjiawan old famous antique market which was closed in 2010. It is one bus station from Xiaoximen. Another sellers are around the city in other second hand markets.

Forums > Living in Kunming > I love Kunming - Except . . .

all previous things + kunming hua, specially 50-60 old people in bus with their noisy and ugly voice. I never see in other Chinese cities so noisy and rude people in this age talking in bus. I dont know why but Kunming hua is so hard and not easy to listen for me. I love many dialect in China and in Yunnan but this one I hate...

The first information about trading tea and changing with horses in Yunnan is from 1661. Before this time, all the tea and horse changing was in Sichuan and Shaanxi prov. - the tea was heicha, Sichuan kang zhuan and Shaanxi fu, qing, hei and hua zhuan. But the first time was Song dynasty, the Tang dynasty is very wrong but yes, is often write in Chinese books.

During Qing dynasty, the quantity of tea transported by horses from Yunnan to Lhasa was very small. Most of the tea was sold and consumed in Lijiang, Shangrli La area. Only small amount was sent to Central Tibet.

The most popular time when really large quantity of puer tea - mostly mushroom shape or tuo shape, was in 1930.1940s. But at that time they already use short way crossing Myanmar, they used horses but also cars and trains.

Of course there was many another products transport from Yunnan or from Laos, there was also way to Beijing special for give top grade teas and other stuff to King. But the trading tea and changing with horses like in Sichuan and Shaanxi was not too old, just firs record is from 1661.

The Tea Horse Road, or Cha Ma Gu Dao is relative new name, start use in 1980s or early 1990s for just commercial things like tourism and promotion puer tea.
