Forums > Living in Kunming > Anyone know where to get sliced deli meats?

I wasn't sure whether to put this is Food & Drink or Living in Kunming but ultimately decided that being able to make a turkey sandwich is a comfort well beyond just eating.

Anyway, does anybody know a supermarket or restaurant where I could buy sliced turkey or ham? I live in the Beichen area and have checked Walmart and Metro, but to no avail. I've been to Carrefour in Beijing and they didn't have it there, any different in Kunming?

Thanks in advance.

I had more or less been avoiding this place due to the reviews here and the prices, but lately I've been going to silver spoon more and more and continue to be impressed. It's not the fastest service, and it's not the cheapest prices, but the diversity of the menu and quality of the food is pretty unparalleled in the area. Quesadillas, philly cheesesteaks, towering salads, I think it's the most underrated kitchen in Kunming.

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because if the place is busy at all, food can take a while to come out because there is not enough staff.

Great burgers, cold beers, and good company. What more can you ask for? O'Reilly's really has that "Cheers" feeling of everybody knows your name. The owners are there all the time, the bartenders, chefs, and staff are all friendly, and to top it all off there's free pool and darts! I highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger with a ceasar salad instead of fries and a pint of vedette blonde.

I've been to SSAM twice now, both times getting the lunch box deal but with different dish choices. The food has been delicious each time and the wait staff is attentive but not hovering. The only reason I'm not giving a five-star review is I haven't tried enough of the dishes yet. Big fan, will definitely be back.
