I want to take my Chinese GF tomorrow (she's only 20) to a nice venue to spend Valentine's day. Any ideas to places or activities?

Hey guys, tomorrow I wanna take my GF to a seafood buffet restaurant (we both have big appetites).
Could you recommend one that is not too expensive anywhere in the downtown area?
Lol, at least they some have rhesus monkeys, what about kunming? Oh yeah, plenty of traffic jams and a couple of stinky lakes.
Wow cross country on a dian dong che? Nice recipe for getting stranded in the middle of nowhere. Weight increase from extra set of batteries will also increase energy consumption.

Call before you go, I went there on thursday and there was no one in there,
I called one of the owners, and they said that they weren't going to open.
I lost my trip, I love the concept of the restaurant, No MSG and etc, but ended up having to pay for a cab ride and getting a growling stomach.
If the same thing happens to you, just go down the road until the road ends and the last 2 story restaurant across the street is very also decent. Order the sweet and sour fish and it also won't have any MSG.
No Bus to Chenggong from the airport, had to go downtown and get a 150 RMB taxi.
I mean isn't this a district of Kunming? Then why not make transportation available?
thumbs down
Metro Line 1 begins passenger trial period
Posted byI live in Chenggong and need to take the bus to Kunming on the weekends to work. So I gotta take bus 170 and stop at the bust terminal Ju Hua Cun to take yet another bus to work.
This sunday I was standing at the bus stop waiting for my usual 10:30 bus. and it jut would't come, after waiting for half an hour and getting desperate. Some kind chinese then stopped his car and told me that the morning bus service was canceled and that I should take the subway!
Guess what, after taking the subway and paying 4 damned kuai, I stopped halfway between Chenggong and Ju Hua Cun and guess which bus I had to take? Yes 170, the same bus take I used to take and that took me directly to from Chenggong to Ju Hua Cun for 2 kuai...
So they force you to take the subway, spend double the money, just to make you have to take the same bus you used to take again later because
and the subway stops halfway your route.
Add that to the fact I need to take another three buses you got Chaos, by the way, you'll have a surprise whenever you reach the last stop of you subway route, get out to take a bus and marvel at the amount of people waiting at the bus stop. You're screwed...
Kunming ranks fifth nationally in expat poll
Posted byLouis... you about are 5 years late.
Kunming nowadays has brown skies and chaotic traffic. The headline photo above is deceiving, I bet it was either taken a long time ago or during the end of a prolonged holiday; the sky just doesn't quite look like that anymore. I don't want to sound like a hater but the truth can be rather disappointing.
I have lived and worked in all of the cities quoted above (as well as Taipei n HK) in exception of Xiamen and Qindao... Kunming is not a bad place to live, however the recent industrial output here and lack of diesel emission control is destroying the only reason KM was big in the eyes and nose of expats: the environment.
IN A COUPLE OF YEARS FROM NOW, the PM 2.5 levels will be reaching 200 constantly, there will be no advantages to choose Kunming over any other chinese city. Yes it will be hazy and unhealthier because when combined with its high altitude the health effects will be worst than other cinese cities.
