During the November 2012 Chinese leadership change over my vpn no longer worked. My provider tried to work around it but didn't suceed. So now I am looking for a good vpn service that is not being blocked by the Chinese government.
Anybody out there happy with their vpn? I also want something that has a bit of speed.

Nothing is impossible in China, but nothing is easy. Do your home work. Opening a business can be done, but go in with your eyes open.
The Wicker Basket Bakery Restaurants teach all their staff Food Safe on a regular basis. I know the owners. They treat their vegetables and fruit in an ozone bath. Apparently the best way to kill harmful bacteria.

The hospitality industry is hard anywhere and especially in Kunming. I have been involved with some restaurants since 2000 and it is really hard to find and keep good staff. Workers leaving for gold in Guangzhou or local compeditors stealing your staff doesn't help the owners provide consistent top quality service. Those who complain about service should also consider the price they are paying for that service and not compare it with what you get in Western countries for a lot more money. I find many expats want Chinese prices and five star service. When is the last time you tipped a server? Over the years I have seen great but gradual improvements in Kunming. I hope you who give a hard review also give praise when it is deserved.
