They also promised me the same thing in July. But come August they wouldn't let me attend the classes I wanted. They forced me to pay tuition saying the police would send me home otherwise. Never arranged classes. Refused to refund my tuition when I changed schools after not having a single class. Only stating that the director responsible has been fired for it.
So does this mean I can finally get my tuition refunded? I never was able to attend a single class, but they forced me to pay tuition in August threatening to cancel my student visa. The management at the time said they would not repay it when I switched schools.
A few days late is one thing, but more than a week?? Two months in a row?? If that happened I'd tell them to start paying once a week, and if they are more than a day late then stop teaching until they pay you.
Well, I give the management of the west campus a big thumbs down. I arrived in Kunming in July, and the director(Loris) promised I could take the classes I wanted even if no other students signed up for them. My gut feeling wasn't so great to begin with, at the time because he smoked in the school, and let other people smoke in the school.
I guess next time I'll follow my gut feeling because come August and I went to pick up my schedule, and he wouldn't let me take the classes I wanted. Said that I had to pay for the classes they arranged for me. The same teacher the whole week, and a terrible textbook unless you enjoy learning about "beijing" culture.
I asked for a few weeks to find a different school, but he repeatedly emphasized that the police would take away my student visa. I just recently switched schools and surprise surprise they didn't refund any of my tuition.
Live and learn I guess. On the bright side I quite like the school I switched to, KUST Northern Language Institute
If you use more than so much a month they double the rate. I believe the it's 10 "units" where each unit is 10,000 l, but I'm not sure. You can go look at the water bills posted and see that those who use more than 10 units a month are much more than others.
So why don't they test the products at the source, or at least the lake water? I guess speculating is more fun, not to mention safer for the reporters anyways.
The rainy season usually doesn't start until about July or August.
There were a couple of days we ran out of water in the afternoon/evening this month, but it hasn't happened since. I live near Yunnan Yingxia on Chuanjin Lu.
The management said Kunming only has about 50% of the water it needs. I've heard as low as 30%.
Seems to be pretty hit or miss. First time I went there the pizza and hamburgers were great. 2nd time the pizza was terrible, and the hamburger was ok. 3rd time the pizza was ok, but people were smoking inside by the time we left. Guess the no smoking policy is not enforced.
The drought: Good and bad news

Overall the English isn't too bad, but there are some articles that could use an editor. Any reason why you just don't hire an editor?
