That really sucks! This really creates a lot of stress. They don't get you a good and fair solution. It's a big F*** you! Hope it works out for you and your wife.

So true. I notice where I live people are back to hacking up phlegm and spitting up a storm. So disgusting. My advice: KEEP YOUR MASK ON!

If you have ever lived in another country for a long period of time, you get to love/hate many things about that other country. China is no different. I've been here for 14 years. How can you not miss the people, food, friends that you make over the years. It's not crazy. Crazy is not missing the times one spend in said country. Every country has it's ups and down. When I go back (USA), I will definitely miss Kunming. Most of us have Chinese wives/children/friends. Obviously you don't understand this or you have only been here for a short period of time. I'm hopeful things will get better in the future. @Ocean is a long time expat here and has property too. Of course he misses his home. Even @Geezer who has since returned I believe misses being here. China will always be a special place for those of us who have been here for awhile.

I'm glad I live in Kunming. We have been so fortunate to be able to buy what we need. We are fortunate to be able to take walks and go out. I'm happy that people here have really worked together to get through this horrible situation. My heart breaks for those that are less fortunate. Never in my wildest dream would I ever had imagine that this would happen. I feel sad for the people that lost their lives and their loves ones. Hopes and dreams were sudden taken away with little to no warning. Children becoming orphans through no fault of their own. Husbands losing their wives and wives losing their husbands. Grandparents losing their children and children losing their grandparents. In a mostly one child family this is so devastating to the Chinese culture. Not being able to say goodbye and burying your loves ones. I just can't imagine that. I feel that Kunming is doing a great job though I know at times some people can be a bit much. We're still not out of the woods, this I know. Hopefully it will end soon and never happen again. Thanks Gokunming for given us information throughout this crisis. You've help many of us. Keep up the good work.

My point was that the structure themselves are so massive that there are wasted. There will be many empty offices and apartments. I live in the North and rarely go to Dong Feng Square anymore. Here in the north they are building a mall too. They have a Walmart, train station, McD's and many dress shops that have little to no traffic. When the mall opens this or next year it will be empty like most mall I've been to.
