I agree with Jess_KM. Been here for almost 3 yrs. I think some of it depends where you live. Some of the places the pipes are really bad which adds to an already bad situation as for as water is concern. I always took our water for granted back in New York. When I came here I realized how blessed I was living in the states with water you can drink of the tap.

I have to agree with bucko in that this was about taxi's NOT wether or not you know chinese. Everybody that comes to China has a right to choose to learn the language or not. I'm sure that bucko knows enough to communicate what he needs to otherwise, how could he have survived for 3 years. I've been here for 2 and a half years and still can't read the newspaper even though I study chinese for 1 year. Not everybody has the same goal. I know enough to get by and I'm cool with that.

@AlPage48 You are so right. I remember when the west always talked about how slim the Chinese are and quite frankly, I've been seeing more and more heavy set people around where I live. A lot of parents are taking their kids to the fast food since they are so busy and have little time to cook.

It's because too many spend too much time surfing the internet, watching t.v. and playing video games. All these activities are sitting down. Mind you that they do this while eating snacks and the like.
