@pideh390: That's not so clear cut. In the announcement of the extended break, there's just one line saying "employers must ensure the legal rights of their employees." It doesn't actually state what those rights are. I believe it is mainly to remind employers that they'll still be held to labor laws regarding arbitrary termination or being forced to work during weekends or holidays (each of which has different pay requirements).

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned before in the thread, but aside from easing requirements for the green card, they're also apparently allowing for more multi-year residence permit applications.

I still haven't found a solid source on the specific requirements, but apparently some people will be eligible for 2-5 year residence permits without doing the whole green card process.

I'm getting ready to get my new RP soon. I will post an update here if I learn anything.

Show up with photos, passport, old license and your residence registration slip from the local police station (proof of address).

They made me take the eye exam again as well. I think there was a fee, but it was peanuts.

If you're renewing a soon-to-expire or recently expired license, no need to take the test.

There are apps for practicing the English exam available on your favorite international appstore (ie Google Play, Apple appstore, etc)

Excellent Thai food served in a beautiful art deco setting. The bar is also top notch, with great cocktails, whiskys and cigars.

When the weather is good, try to get a table on the rooftop garden, which offers views of the Bird and Flower market.

May be a little pricier than some of the other Thai restaurants in town.

An exciting new gallery space built from an old factory warehouse in the Paoluda Creative Industry Park. Looking forward to seeing what they'll do with it.

A great little place in the middle of a beautiful valley chock full of great climbing spots.

The beds and rooms are very comfortable, though the bathrooms are shared, and of the "eco" variety (a plus as far as I'm concerned).

The owners are very helpful about everything from info on climbing spots to trip planning and getting around the area.

Also, the place is dirt cheap. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I heard they revamped the burgers so I went there for one last night. Had the blue cheese burger. Total mess, cheese and carmelized onions dripping all over the place. It was awesome.
