I'm 99.9% sure you won't get into any trouble registering now, because I registered more than 4 months late and didn't get into trouble. Police are not as lax as they used to be but registering a couple days late should not be a problem.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Selling stuff at the second hand market?

I've never been there before but need to sell a bunch of stuff before I leave Kunming. Do you sell your stuff to vendors or to customers? Would it be easy for me to offload stuff I'm unable to sell through other means (dishes/cookware/used clothing), if I don't care how much I'm paid?

Fortunately I don't need to leave. If I had to it would have been my fault, due to applying only one week in advance instead of two as the school specified.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Might need a new visa

Today my school told me I might have a problem getting a new student visa. Apparently one of the officials whose signature I need is out of town on business, and unless some exception is made I will need to leave the country on the 15th when my visa expires.

Since my visa is expiring, I would need to get a new visa, probably tourist visa, and convert it to a student visa once I return to Kunming.

What are my options? I would prefer to travel to Laos and get the tourist visa there. Is that possible? Or is my only choice to go to Hong Kong?

I hate almost all website layout overhauls at first, so I give myself time to adjust. But the new GoKunming layout has not grown on me. There's too much scrolling involved when using a laptop. It's difficult to find the search bar because most pages don't contain it. Overall, the compact, functional layout we had before was quite nice and didn't need to be changed.

"Should only countries with perfect human right records be allowed to discuss other countries human rights situation?"

No, but only countries that look like they're trying. U.S. fails in that regard. Other countries, e.g. Switzerland and Denmark have the requisite integrity to engage in dialogue.

New menu, prices of many of my favorite dishes increased 25%+. Salvador's used to unambiguously be the best value for western food in town, now while still an excellent place, I'll be eating there somewhat less due to the price increases.

Very delicious, though a bit pricey (perhaps 45-60 per person depending on how much meat you want). Considering it's all top-notch organic ingredients, I still think it's a 5 stars in value.

Yes, I remember this place from a trip a few months ago, tried going 3 times, closed every time.

I'm reviewing the pizzas which are the only items on the menu I've tried. The pizzas are the best in Kunming hands down. I go to this restaurant on Fridays for the half price pizza which is an excellent deal. Food usually arrives slow at this time because the restaurant can get overwhelmed with customers, but the wait is well worth it.

There is one problem with this restaurant, and that is its location. It's not around anything else and there's no convenient bus from the Cui Hu area. So it's 35 minutes of brisk walking each way when I want to visit. Only the weekly pizza pizza deal is enough to motivate me. If Slice of Heaven was on Wenlin Jie I would probably visit 2-3 times a week.

This place has fantastic ratings...but I can't find it! I'm pretty sure I was on the right street but it looked like it was just residential area on the south end of Tianjundian Xiang, no restaurant...there was a gate with a guard and I didn't go any farther than that, maybe I was supposed to? None of the buildings on this street had address numbers that I could see.
