<content:encoded><![CDATA[Pesticides are usually banned because of the effect they have on the ecosystem. I was working in the US in 1990s when they were trying to ban the last of the ...drins. These had been used for years on foodstuffs, but the effects of using increasing amounts of organo-phosphates on the ecosystem was ruled unsustainable. 

Just because a chemical is banned does not mean it is any less safe for humans than those that are not banned. The opposite is also true.]]></content:encoded>
