Also, any other suggestions for fun family activities? I have an apartment near Green Lake but I wouldn't mind a one day excursion.

Thanks,

Hi,
I am not sure I will be in Kunming during those dates since I am planning a trip to the US during October sometime. I go weekly to a riding stable outside of Kunming where you could take your daughters. Please email me at acomarsh@gmail.com and I will give you a person you can contact and phone number and more information about it. There is a lady who works there who speaks some English. The place is run by a Korean man who has earned several medals. It is English style and very safe. All riders must wear boots, gloves, riding helmet and hold a riding crop which you can borrow for the day. It costs 200 RMB per person. The stable is fairly large and has about 30 horses. I am sure your kids will love it.
